I love movies. And I like to read movie reviews. So, I decided one day to combine my love of film for writing about particular movies I enjoyed watching. And that’s basically what this blog is about: movies I enjoy.
Do you ever find yourself on Netflix or jonesing to see a good film but have no idea what to rent or stream to your computer? Well, consider this blog a friendly attempt to make some heartfelt recommendations. I try to review a wide variety and assortment of movies: first-run features, indie film, documentary, foreign films, black and white, film classics, etc.
I like all kinds of movies EXCEPT: (big exception here) horror movies. You will not read any reviews or recommendations on Halloween III or Jason 2… I do love anything funny, moving, sad, or compelling. Basically, I want to escape and be entertained for two hours. I like movies that are multi-layered and get you thinking…But I also like slapstick and romantic-comedies. There are a zillion movies out there and I try to only recommend the ones that seem worthwhile. I also love foreign, indie, and obscure films that perhaps are not as well known. These days, movies can be streamed into laptops and iPads via Netflix and Hula. I don’t go out as much to see first-run feature films unless it’s extremely popular and well-regarded. You have to spend those 12 bucks wisely these days. Happy reading and viewing!
